ARISS I Agenda:
Administrative Session
1. Tentative ARISS-Ops Meeting at AMSAT Mtg, Chicago, October 8-10, Presenter: R. White
An ARISS-Ops meeting was proposed for Sunday at the AMSAT Symposium, but at this time, only a few members are able to attend, so unless more members become available, the meeting will be delayed for another time.
2. Next ARISS-I Face to Face Meeting, Presenter: R. White
Countries take turns hosting the face to face meeting, and at the last meeting, held in the Netherlands, the U.S. offered to host the next meeting either at Johnson Space Center or Goddard Space Flight Center. The U.S. has only one delegate at this time and although it wishes to, it is unable to hold the meeting in 2010, but will begin plans to host a meeting in Spring 2011. A decision will need to be made by October in order for visas to be obtained.
3. New business (administrative only)
None.
General Session
4. Columbus module status, Presenters: G. Bertels, K. Ransom
Due to the holidays, there has been no input from ESA on HAM TV. ARCOL WG continues to meet biweekly to discuss the ground segment.
Paperwork needed to fly the power cable for the Ericsson is being closed. The cable will fly on ULF-5, after which the VHF Ericsson will be installed in the Columbus Module. The UHF Ericsson will be attached underneath the VHF unit, allowing the radios to be switched out and attached to the dual band antenna.
5. ARISSat-1 status, Presenters: L. McFadin, G. Smith
The team is putting together the flight units.
NASA is working with the team on paperwork, transportation and numbers needed for vibration tests.
A mockup of the Kursk experiment is being built for the vibration test.
Lou gave a demonstration of the satellite to the team.
Gaston thanked and congratulated the ARISSat team for its hard work on the satellite.
6. New business
None.
The next ARISS-I meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 21 at 11:15 UTC.
Respectfully submitted,
Carol Jackson for the ARISS team
