ARISS I Agenda:
Administrative Session
1. QSL card photo, Presenter: R. White
After asking for votes choosing one of two photos of the ISS, Rosalie still has not received a few inputs. She will be following up with these delegates and asking about the information on the reverse side as well.
It appears that we have enough of the current cards to hold us for a while, and Rosalie asked anyone whose supply is low to let her know.
2. New business (administrative only)
None.
General Session
3. Columbus module status, Presenter: M. Severance
Lou McFadin reported that the antennas are loaded in the Shuttle and waiting for the November launch. He is also developing a cable that will allow us to power the Ericsson radio from a computer power brick and get a station up and operating quickly.
4. ARISSat-1 status, Presenter: L. McFadin
By Wednesday a prototype of each box will be ready for a test integration. Graham was able to quickly manufacture and deliver the handles to Lou. The goal is to put the system together this coming weekend in Phoenix, Arizona. The goal is to assemble the frame and mount the boxes for a fit check. A US-built silver-zinc battery will be used instead of the Russian-provided flight battery that will not travel to the US for testing. The test battery was fairly expensive and any donations to AMSAT-NA to help offset the cost would be greatly appreciated.
Lou noted that many of the received audio messages do not have the secret word attached at the end.
5. New business
None.
The next international partners meeting is currently scheduled for Tuesday, November 17, 2009. Gaston has a potential conflict that date so it may be changed. If it is changed it will be noted via email.
Respectfully submitted,
Mark Steiner, K3MS, for the ARISS Team
