ARISS I Agenda:

Administrative Session

1. ARISS-I Face to Face Meeting, Moscow, Status, Presenter: S. Samburov

Sergey indicated that we need 5-6 working days for the meetings, which will include crew training, hardware, scientific experiments and school contacts, as well as the
initial ARWG face-to-face. A draft agenda of all the meetings and dates will be distributed to all delegates for feedback, hopefully prior to the next international telecon.

2. Amateur Radio Working Group (ARWG), Presenter: M. Severance N5XWF

Intent of ARWG is to give official ARISS representation to the ISS Program Office within NASA. It will provide integration, coordination, and planning for all amateur radio
activities and operations onboard the ISS, coordinated with the ISS MIOCB – Mission Integration Operations Control Board. It will consist of official representatives from
CSA, NASDA/JAXA, RSA/RSC-Energia, and NASA, and would be jointly chaired by Mark Severance (representing amateur radio in the ISS Program Office) and Frank Bauer (representing ARISS). There will be ad-hoc members from the astronaut office, the cosmonaut office, and the support offices in NASA and Energia. Actual responsibilities and official actions will be handled through the respective Team Zero (official ISS management board of each international partner agency). The ARWG will establish an official chain of command within the ISS Program Office.

One goal of the ARWG will be to determine how best to support the education activities, given the changing manifesting opportunities and challenges. Other activities will
include crew training, operations planning, stowage and usage of onboard hardware. One of the most important services to be provided will be maintaining
communications and coordination across and between the IP agencies. The outcome will be a better supported and coordinated set of amateur radio activities and
operations across all elements of the ISS.

Mark Severance is asking the international delegates to help get the “right” individual from their respective IP agency to be on the ARWG. They must be an employee of
the agency, and it would be best if they were from the ISS portion of the agency. Most helpful would be experience in education and outreach. Being a ham would be great,
but that is not a requirement.

Mark Severance will be submitting an action item to each IP agency requesting that they name an official representative to the ARWG. It would be helpful if the
international delegates contacted their best person, who could meet the requirements for this role, to let them know of this opportunity.

This will be a new working group with responsibilities beyond the current ARISS and NASA-Energia technical team. These responsibilities will be defined in the charter being
worked at the Team Zero level. Frank would like to see the ARWG be more strategic, with more visibility at the highest levels of the ISS Program Office, while ARISS and
the NASA-Energia team will work more at the day-to-day level.

Mark would like to have the first face-to-face working group meeting just prior to the ARISS International Partners meeting in Russia in June, following regular
coordination telecons up to that point.

3. SuitSat-1 Certificates, Presenter: F. Bauer

Frank commended Carol for doing such a great job in preparing the lists to get to the certificate printer. Frank still needs the list from Japan. He anticipates shipping out
the first batch in the next week or so and closing down this operation by April of 2008.

Sergey does not have too many hams on the list to get certificates, but many people who supported the development of the SuitSat effort – trainers, engineers, other
support staff, cosmonauts, etc.

4. Telebridge Request Proposal, Presenter: F. Bauer

Frank distributed to the ARISS-I team a proposed email to send out that would request people to apply to become telebridge stations. The goal is to fill in some geographic
“holes” that would give us better options for telebridge support. Frank asked for feedback, and no one had any suggestions, so he asked everyone to forward the email as
appropriate to spread the word.

Tadeu volunteered that PY1AMR in Rio de Janeiro would be a good option to consider, and Frank is eager to work with him.

5. New Business (administrative only)

None.

General Session

6. Taxi Flight, Richard Garriott, Presenter: F. Bauer

The US part of the ARISS team has been approached by Richard’s team and together we have been talking about what might be accomplished. This will be the first
father-son astronaut team and first father-son ham radio team to have flown. Owen is helping Richard to prepare for his flight and has been conveying ideas for working
schools, hardware and other contacts. We are working on how best to handle the opportunities presented. As Owen was an astronaut and Richard will be flying on a Soyuz,
we need Russian and U.S. teams to work together. Richard will have a busy flight and we need to be careful not to over commit either Richard while on-orbit or the ARISS
support network on the ground.

7. New business

None.

Respectfully submitted,
Mark Steiner, K3MS, for the ARISS Team
