ARISS I Agenda:

Frank took a moment to reflect on what a great year ARISS had in 2007. The Columbus module is sitting on the launch pad, awaiting flight aboard ¬¬¬¬¬¬Atlantis to the ISS with two ham antennas. Even with such a busy year of construction, the ISS crew still managed to perform an unprecedented number of school contacts. The educational impact of our operations is truly something of which we should be proud. Over 250 million people around the world have been tied into various contacts, with over 15,000 students being directly touched by the events. We have new delegates coming into the team.

Administrative Session

1. ARISS-I Face to Face Meeting, Moscow, Status, Presenter: S. Samburov

The June dates are staying stable, with the plan being to start the meetings around June 4. Final agenda and plans will be worked by January so commitments for travel can be made as soon as possible. Mark Steiner and Frank Bauer will be coordinating the attendance of who arrives when for which portions of the agenda.

2. SuitSat-1 Certificates, Presenter: F. Bauer

The process is moving forward such that the certificates will be shipped to the regional delegates in the near future.

3. Telebridge Request Proposal, Presenter: F. Bauer

The delegates will shortly be receiving an email from Frank outlining a request for applications for more telebridge stations around the world.

4. New Business (administrative only)

None.

General Session

5. Kenwood Radio Software Reload Status, Presenter: K. Ransom

The US team has successfully worked the MCP Kenwood reprogramming software into the Expedition 17 software load, making it accessible from the standard computers onboard. This will allow ARISS the ability to reconfigure the Kenwood as needed by sending up new configuration files. Currently Rev. H will be used.

6. SuitSat-2 Status, Presenter: L. McFadin

Eight solar arrays from NASA will be shipped to the SuitSat team shortly so they can begin final designs with access to the actual flight units. Designs of the various components continue to progress. A university team is interested in flying a development version of the system on a balloon as a test flight.

7. New business

None.

The next meeting is scheduled for January 22, 2007.

The meeting closed with best wishes for another successful year for ARISS in 2008.

Respectfully submitted,

Mark Steiner, K3MS, for the ARISS Team
