ARISS I Agenda:
Administrative Session
1. ARISS-I Face to Face Meeting, Moscow, Status, Presenter: S. Samburov
The anticipated start date is June 8 or 15, and Sergey will need a commitment from attendees in January 2008. The group will be in Moscow, Star City, Kaluga, and Korolev, but the meetings will probably be placed at one end of the dates in one location for convenience of the travelers.
2. SuitSat-1 Certificates, Presenter: F. Bauer/ R. White
Keigo Komuro informed the team that Japan is finalizing the list. Status of Russian list is unknown. After the initial group of certificates is mailed out, a notice would go out indicating that others who missed the first opportunity would have until February 2008 to request one.
3. Telebridge Request Proposal, Presenter: K. Ransom
There is a need for additional telebridge stations world-wide, and a description of desired station capabilities is being prepared. A call will soon be going out soliciting applications to be considered for addition to the existing list of stations. The description will go to the ARISS delegates to review before a solicitation is publicized.
4. New Business (administrative only)
None
General Session
5. SuitSat-2 Status, Presenter: L. McFadin
The terrible fires in California slowed down the development team, but thankfully none of their homes were damaged. There is significant progress in the development of the digital signal processing board. Testing of version 1 of the Internal Housekeeping Unit is completed, and the next revision will start shortly. Software development is coming along. The RF team has designed the prototype transmitter and receiver and they are currently in testing.
The US design team anticipates using their SuitSat2 designs in other amateur radio satellite efforts.
Rosalie is working with the NASA Education Office to develop an education learning module to go along with the SuitSat2 activities, along with lesson plans.
6. New business
Columbus Module
Graham Shirville thanked the team for support on the antenna development and installation, and is anticipating flying up hardware to use the antennas. Gaston Bertels noted that the Europe working group is meeting weekly to develop the plans for flying hardware to the Columbus Module. ARISS delegates congratulated the European team in their tremendous work.
Stefan reported that the Canadian team (himself, Robin, Ken Pulfer, and Daniel) will be meeting soon to coordinate all their activities and prepare for a meeting with the CSA. They are requesting input on what the rest of the ARISS team would like to see from or do with CSA.
The next meeting is scheduled for December 18, 2007.
Respectfully submitted,
Mark Steiner, K3MS, for the ARISS Team
